May 22, 2023, VCFD was recognized for their exceptional efforts in water conservation. The DRAFTS Unit AKA Pump Pod was developed to recirculate water during engineer pumping training. Each unit will save an estimated 13 million gallons in ten years. Currently the agency has three and has plans of obtaining 2 more.
