One-Way Random-Effects ANOVA - Example 3.3
In a previous lecture we covered the one-way random-effects ANOVA procedure. In this lecture video, we work through an example of that procedure in detail. In particular, we are going to take another look at the rice variety yield experiment and treat it as if it were a random-effects experiment. Here is an overview of what we will be looking at in this video: Description of the experiment Review the results of the ANOVA Construct confidence interval estimates of the model error variance and the treatment variance based on the Chi-square distribution and also based on the Normal distribution Perform the analyses using SAS (both PROC GLM and also PROC MIXED) Assess the confidence interval estimators of the treatment variance Next lecture in this series: Previous lecture in this series: https://youtu.be/a2jPNuiz6ps First lecture in this series: https://youtu.be/372zCgFvGDI "A Course on Structural Equation Modeling" playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyq-3DNuZLa1uLYSoFDj6aVSUVnYxxYzz 0:00 Intro Music 0:20 Introduction 0:43 Outline 1:27 Description of the experiment 2:52 Raw data and the basic summary statistics 3:32 One-way random-effects model 7:45 Review of the ANOVA table 8:32 What Hypotheses are Being tested by the ANOVA F test? 10:52 Conclusion and interpretation of ANOVA results 12:05 Estimation of the variance components 12:22 Estimation of the model error variance 17:29 Estimation of the treatment variance 36:26 Analysis using SAS PROC GLM 46:20 Analysis using SAS PROC Mixed 49:20 Which of the confidence intervals for the treatment variance should we use? 52:32 Summary 53:34 Outro
