Oreo | Training Sessions – Building Neutrality Through Tethering

In this training session, Oreo works on tethering to build neutrality, patience, and the ability to settle in different environments. Tethering is a powerful way to teach a dog how to turn off and exist without constant engagement. Instead of always asking for obedience, we’re helping Oreo learn how to be calm, observe the environment, and regulate arousal levels on his own. We’re focusing on reducing unnecessary movement, vocalization, and reactivity while reinforcing calm, neutral behavior. This is especially important for dogs that struggle with over-arousal, anxiety, or constantly seeking interaction. The goal is a dog that can exist in the world without needing to be doing something all the time. Dog training should look like real life and feel like play.
