The tuning is C–G–D–G–C–D, and it’s often called Orkney because it evokes that wide, windswept, Scottish folk sound. It’s fantastic for fingerstyle, creating big, resonant chords with just a few fingers, and it opens the door to drones, modal melodies, and some beautiful textures you just can’t get in standard tuning
