Urosaurus ornatus is a small lizard of the Edwards Plateau and the western part of South Texas, westward to California and also in Mexico. The subspecies here on the Edwards Plateau is also called the Texas Tree Lizard. They do sometimes climb trees, but I most often see them on large boulders, such as the one in this video. They are very well camouflaged, but notice the bright turquoise blue color on the throat and undersides of this male. Much study has been made of this lizard's society, and how there are multiple male genders based upon whether the color of the throat and abdomen is blue or orange, or some combination.
