The Basics What’s a Google Doc Outline? What are Heading Styles? (demo) Heading 1 → Shortcut: (Ctrl+Alt+1) (or Cmd 🍎) Heading 2 → Shortcut: (Ctrl+Alt+2) Heading 3 → Shortcut: (Ctrl+Alt+3) Normal → Shortcut: (Ctrl+Alt+0) Update Style: Select Style → Update Heading to match It’s an outline, so what? Because the outline becomes the paper… A paper outline without headings, Becomes a paper without headings (like a book without chapters) Easy to get lost (where did I leave off?) Or lose focus (what was my point?) A paper outline with headings: Keeps your subordinate writing focused Helps you organize your thoughts/paper Helps you write/edit the paper efficiently (find your stadium seat) Helps you write in conquerable chunks to overcome word count overwhelm (demo) Show me how!
