Overactive Bladder - Part Two: Evaluation and Management

The second part of this webinar on the overactive bladder discusses the evaluation and management of the condition. Presented by Alan Wein from the University of Pennsylvania, the webinar starts by introducing the current guidelines with relation to the diagnosis, conservative and pharmacologic therapy, and treatment goals. In addition, behavioral therapy strategies and pharmacological therapies such as antimuscarinics and estrogen are discussed alongside etiologies of failure such as missed diagnosis. Wein, MD, PhD(hon.), FACS is Professor with Tenure and Emeritus Chief of Urology and Director of the Residency Program in Urology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He is a graduate of Princeton University and received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed training in Surgery and Urology at the University of Pennsylvania including a fellowship at the Harrison Department of Surgical Research. He has been certified and recertified (voluntary) by the American Board of Urology. He is the recipient of numerous awards, spanning over 50 years in Urology. He has chaired the Residency Review Committee in Urology and served as Vice President of the American Board of Urology. He is the author and co-author of over 1,000 papers and book chapters and is the co-editor-in-chief of the 9th, 10th, and 11th editions of Campbell-Walsh Urology and the name of the 12th, and succeeding editions, has been changed to Campbell-Walsh-Wein Urology to reflect his contributions to the field. His clinical and research interests include the lower urinary tract, urinary incontinence, and lower urinary tract dysfunction, prostate enlargement, and evaluation/management of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer.
