Overlook Mountain SOTA

I decided it was time to go back to Overlook Mountain. It's been about two years since I was here last, and I had ulterior motives for making this hike. First, I wanted to do a SOTA activation. Second, I needed the Overlook Mountain Fire Observation Tower for my Catskills fire tower challenge for 2025. I'd been to the other five on the list already this year, so I figured I'd make the miserable trek up Overlook and get it out of the way. I took the KX2 and AX1 with me. I didn't have high hopes considering the antenna and power, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bands were in pretty good shape, and I had a steady stream of calls. If you've never been up here, check it out. The Overlook Mountain House Hotel ruins are really interesting, and the view from the fire tower is spectacular. Thanks as always for watching and 73!
