painting light no bs

Lighting is very complicated, and for someone who's just starting to learn and understand it, they might find it difficult. Obviously the best way is to still study and practice it for countless hours but I think people tend to overexplain it when we can simplify it, which is not a bad thing but it sometimes demotivates people. ps. My whole canvas is set as my midtones, so all I have to do is apply different values of darker and lighter gray, its easier that way for me.
