Panel: Thriving (Not Just Surviving) Through Change About the Topic: Change can feel like the only constant in a growing company. It can be uncomfortable and scary, but it is necessary to expand and keep up with the ever-evolving tech space. Over the past three years, Achievers has undergone significant changes in organizational structure, leadership, architecture, and more! We were acquired and then that company was acquired. We lost a beloved GM and CTO, then hired another wonderful CEO. We even launched an entirely new platform called Listen. Not all the changes have been easy. We've seen radical shifts in company strategy, experienced periods of increased attrition, and had to learn how to rapidly scale. In spite of all that, we’ve managed to keep up with the leaders in the HR space and maintain the culture that means so much to all Achievers’ employees. Change is inevitable and if you don’t embrace it, your company will likely stagnate. Let us share the lessons we learned as we navigated difficult changes and growing pains. About the Panelists: Lin Chear - Senior Staff Software Engineer As the architecture guru on his team, Lin has been instrumental in launching a brand new software platform for Achievers. Lin has been able to help the team navigate through the challenge of working on a start-up-like project within an established company. Amanda Leung - Product Manager Amanda has supported the Achievers platform as it has changed and matured to the HR offering it is today. As a Product Manager, she is part of the team that shapes the vision of our growing product. Neil Loknath - Senior Manager Neil is a manager who oversees two feature development teams. Neil was a Team Lead and Senior Software Engineer on the Mobile feature team which he now manages. Amit Kaura - Senior Director of Engineering Prior to his promotion to Director, Amit was a Senior Manager and managed feature development teams at Achievers. Now Amit is in charge of over 70 personnel and counting. As our technical leader, Amit has been vital in navigating leadership and organizational changes. Maryam Shoeybi - Software Development Architect, Manager Maryam is responsible for the overall health and stability of the codebase at Achievers. As one of the most senior engineers, Maryam constantly has to deal with new architectural challenges every day.
