A Pre-Direct is a tree-climbing technique for routing a Life-Line, from the ground, through several branch unions in a tree's crown to safely access difficult work positions. Sometimes, a Pre-Direct can be easier than setting Redirect(s) while working within the crown of a tree. Often, it is necessary to work past the Pre-Direct to access other work areas in the tree. This a simple demonstration of one of the many ways to pass a 'Pre-Direct' using a Petzl Basic and 'Biner. The reverse of this technique can also be used to set a Redirect.
