Patsy Cline ~ Always (1980) [Stereo]
In 1980, MCA Records commissioned a "new" Patsy Cline album to meet the demand for her music after the theatrical release of "Coal Miner's Daughter". The label called on Patsy's original Producer, Owen Bradley, to work his magic. Ten of Patsy's classic Decca recordings were chosen for the album. Owen gathered a group of Nashville's finest session musicians at his Mount Juliet, Tennessee studio. Patsy's vocals were transferred from the original master tapes and added to new music tracks with contemporary arrangements that were, it was felt, more suited to the current music-listening audience. Written by Irving Berlin. Patsy's vocal was recorded on February 5, 1963, at Columbia Recording Studios in Nashville. The new music track was recorded on May 27, 1980, at Bradley's Barn in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Arranged by David Briggs. Originally released by MCA Records (MCA-41303) as the first single from the album "Always" (MCA-3263). Audio taken from the 1988 CD release (MCAD-27069), mastered using MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab.
