Paul Hardcastle - King Tut

This is one of the many versions of "King Tut" that Paul Hardcastle has created over the years. This specific mix hails from his 1985 album, Rain Forest. It is track number 2 out of the 8 tracks on the album. You might say that it is the "album version" of the song, even though the Rain Forest album lists it plainly as "King Tut". For whatever reason, this version of King Tut is very difficult to find online, especially since the Rain Forest album was never released on CD or any other digital formats. I assume that since this version was only featured on this album, that is why it is so hard to find. This is especially odd considering that the other songs on this album have nearly all been digitally rereleased on various Paul Hardcastle compilations or on later albums of his. Most uploads of King Tut that I find online are the 4 minute version that was featured on Paul Hardcastle's self titled album, which does sound very similar. Perhaps this Rain Forest version was an early version of that track? The only other song yet to be officially digitally rereleased is track 7 of Rain Forest, "Soundchaser". However, I was able to find a high quality recording of the original master for that song on Paul's Bandcamp account, which I recommend you check out if you are a fan of his older electronic tracks. He has high quality recordings of many of his older electronic songs on there, some of which have not been officially digitally rereleased yet. Unfortunately though, the master recording for the Rain Forest version of King Tut has yet to have been added to Paul Hardcastle's Bandcamp account. At least for now then, my upload will have to do! There were one or two other uploads of this version of King Tut on YouTube, but they both had excessive crackling in the background or a few skips in the recordings. Therefore, for the sake of getting this wonderful version of King Tut out to the internet, I figured I should record the track from my own copy of Rain Forest. (Which is a wonderful album by the way. I highly recommend it.) I also made sure to remove as many crackles and pops as I could from the recording, and I think it turned out nearly flawless. This may be as close to a CD quality "release" of this version of King Tut that we will ever get, so please enjoy!
