Public Domain When peace flows gently like a river inside when waves of sorrow rise and then they collide whatever comes my way, I have learned to declare my soul is safe and steady, in His loving care Peace that passes understanding comforts my soul It guards my heart and mind For God is in control Peace in the valley And peace on the hill It rules in my heart With His perfect will Though darkness may come and tribulation appear My faith is much stronger than all dreaded fear that Christ saw my weakness, my burden, my fall and gave His life freely once and for all Oh, what a joy in this truth I now hold my sin, every piece, both the small and the whole was nailed to the cross, now it binds me no more so I lift up my praise To the One I live for There’s peace in the valley And peace on the hill It rules in my heart With His perfect will Promised day when faith turns to sight when clouds roll away in the fullness of light the trumpet will sound, and the King will descend To establish His kingdom that will never end There’s peace in the valley And peace on the hill Peace in our homes With His perfect will
