Periphery - Dracul Gras Solo Cover (+ TAB)

My take on this amazing Jake Bowen solo. This is one of the most challenging things I’ve attempted, especially in such a short amount of time. I know I’m super late for YouTube standards, but I’ve never been a “speed runner” - I just wanted to challenge myself and see if I could learn this in one weekend. Looks like I did, so… here it is! I’m LOVING PV and I’m thinking about covering the rest of the solos… Zagreus next? Stuff for guitar nerds: **The tab is in E standard but I'm tuned a half step down, that's why I'm playing everything one fret up** One of my favorite things about Periphery is that each one of the guys has their very unique voice on the instrument. This solo’s got all of Jake’s trademarks: deliberate slides, sequenced arpeggios and scales, and overall amazing melodic phrasing. Some of these licks are total finger twisters, and the timing makes things more complicated since a fair amount of phrases start on the “ands” (if we’re counting in 4/4). I normally don’t add tabs to my videos, but I wanted to share my approach to executing some of these licks. I used the official Sheet Happens transcription as a basis, but I altered some fingerings and added picking directions, since using a bit of economy picking and paying attention to your inside/outside picking can make your life easier :) Tab here: https://shreddungeon.wordpress.com/2023/03/20/dracul-gras-solo-cover-with-tab/
