Personality Disorders
In this video, we explore Personality Disorders as defined in the DSM-5. Personality disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by enduring patterns of behavior, cognition, and inner experience that deviate significantly from the expectations of the individual's culture. These patterns are inflexible, pervasive, and lead to distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. We will cover the Cluster A, Cluster B, and Cluster C personality disorders, providing an overview of the diagnostic criteria, key features, and symptom patterns for each. Disorders discussed will include Paranoid Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, and more. This lecture is essential for anyone studying mental health or clinical psychology, providing valuable insights into how personality disorders are diagnosed and treated based on the criteria outlined in the DSM-5.
