PFAS Partnership kickoff speech

In this opening speech from the PFAS Partnership kick-off event, Emil Damgaard-Møller, Head of Secretariat for the PFAS Partnership and Senior Specialist at Danish Technological Institute, welcomes over 50 companies to the partnership and shares the vision for collaboration. Key messages: • More than 50 companies have joined – from global brands and OEMs to medical device companies, brewing companies, consultants, and industry associations • Despite being in different sectors (and sometimes competitors), companies share the same challenges with PFAS • Many PFAS issues are non-competitive – working together accelerates progress for everyone • The partnership is a platform for professional development: compliance, R&D, substitution, communication, and strategic decision-making About the PFAS Partnership The Danish EPA's PFAS Partnership with Industry is a collaborative initiative running from 2025-2027, financed by the Danish Ministry of Environment and Gender Equality. The partnership is led by Danish Technological Institute in collaboration with inVirke, Dansk Standard, and Apeiron – with Danish Industry and The Danish Chamber of Commerce in the steering group. The purpose is to enable a platform for collaboration in industries where PFAS is not easily replaced, to accelerate phase-out and minimisation through shared effort, to build knowledge and competences across affected industries, and to develop practical tools for compliance, alternatives assessment, and substitution.
