Phase 3: Refining technique for painting
This video begins with a quick visual review of the early phases of your painting, from planning to blocking. The third and final phase, refining, is where you make the work come to life! Slow down, use smaller brushes (I really like the filbert) and try out different blending techniques. Continue to bounce around the composition to establish visual harmony and an even level of finish. Take breaks often at this point and step back to assess - sometimes what you don't paint is just as important as what you do paint. This is where having two painting sessions during the week becomes really important, as you'll need time away to really 'see' what your progress. FYI, this took me about 15 minutes in real time, and I only did a portion of the refining. There is still lots of work to be done. Areas were purposefully left untouched so you can see the steps of this technique develop. **There is no sound to this video, only text...pause at key points & take notes**
