Please engage with the Discussion Board, reading your classmates’ writing and respond to two reflections or comments (from either Dr. Harris or your classmates). Reflection Questions for Week 2: Using the readings from Charmaz and Creswell & Poth for week 2, please choose 1 of the following reflection questions to answer. Please respond to two of your classmates’ or instructor’s comments or reflections. 1. How did the readings contribute to your understanding of your own academic identity? What links did you make between the readings and your professional development and values as a researcher? What philosophical beliefs among interpretative frameworks resonated with the kind of researcher you want to be? 2. Throughout the course, we are going to be attempting to understand THE SELF in a way that makes research possible. What did you learn about nursing and/or public health research from the personal positioning and reflection on the history and traditions of qualitative inquiry? 3. Use the theoretical underpinnings of symbolic interactionism and pragmatism to imagine how a research participant might experience and act upon their social world. Contextualize this exercise within your chosen research topic.
