In this video first the definitions of PIC timer and PIC counter are given, then advantages of using timers over delay macros are explained in details. The basic block diagram of PIC timers are explained. Terminologies e.g. prescalar, timer overflow, and timer interrupt are discussed. Finally the calculation of count increment is given.
