My hang or handpan is Celtic minor from Scarletroots-pancompagny https://www.scarletroots-pancompany.com/en/hand-pans/instruments The DPA 2011 pair are running through an Audient ASP800 Mic pre. All the contact mics are going into a RME Fireface. The GUDA OM active pickup is powered by a battery and needs to be recharged via a little USB cable included. I’ve used this pickup a lot running through a simple amp. It sounds very nice. It has a magnet in the mic so very easy to stick on your hang drum or RAV. The battery does not last long so needs to be recharged before any practice or concert. https://guda-drum.com/om-active-handpantongue-drum-pickup I have used a pair of AKG extensively for all kinds of contact mic field recordings and have very good results. There is a lot of bass tone but I like it. This mic needs phantom which can be a problem when you plugin into an amp. https://www.akg.com/Microphones/Condenser%20Microphones/C411PP.html?dwvar_C411PP_color=Black-GLOBAL-Current#start=1 I have just bought the Schertler Basik road kit so I’m new to this mic. You can switch out XLR to a 1/8 jack with a little battery kit included. However on this test I had to crank up the gain level to 55 Db to match the AKG at 30 Db so there is a lot of hiss on the recording which is disappointing. https://secure.schertler.com/en_CH/shop/pickups/basik-road All tracks have a low cut at 50 Hz. Limiter 5Db boost on the 3 contact mics and 10Db boost on the DPAs. Thanks! Margaret http://www.shiftingwaves.com
