The Pilates swan is a popular extension exercise which can be performed on the mat and equipment. It is often used in Pilates classes at the end and gives sensation of opening the front body, expands the chest and stretches the abdominals, hip flexors and quadriceps. The backs, inner things , pelvic floors , gluts and hamstrings are at work.
This is the beginner stretch that will prepare you for progressing to the advanced move , the Swan Dive.
This is a great stretch to do after time spend working on the computer , driving, walking long hours , or flight travel.
