Piston Pin Bore Scan Gaging Machine
- Semi-Automatic gaging station for final inspection of pistons. - Part is rough aligned with manual setting tool during part load. - A horizontal cross slide automatically advance part into measurement position. - Part is located on a floating gimbal nest. - A linear air bearing slide moves the measurement head assembly into the wrist pin bore. - Expanding locator bars built into the measurement head centralize the part prior to inspection. - Part is locked into place and expansion bars retract. - The linear air bearing slide retracts the measurement to take profile traces of the bore at -45, 0, 45, and 180. - Digital gage probes on skirt diameter and dome face are used for additional measurements. - Measurements include diameter, profile, position and parallelism of the piston pin bore, skirt diameter and compression height. - Measurement summary includes graphical display of the profile traces. - Interchangeable tooling sets allow inspection of additional part types. - +Vantage Real Time Gage Controller (RTGC) software calculates and displays measurement results. - Built in Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) Study software. - +Vantage Real-Time Statistical Process Control (SPC) for histogram, X-Bar & R charts, sub-group based results. - Available data storage and output via standard Ethernet or USB interface in Q-DAS, Excel, ASCII.
