Planetary Rockscape – Sci-Fi Speed Drawing in Procreate
Planetary Rockscape is a speed drawing video showing the creation of a barren alien landscape under a distant, glowing sky. The scene features scattered rocks and debris across an empty terrain, with a massive rock formation looming on the horizon and planets shining in the night sky. Find out more on: https://marincomics.com/drawing-as-meditation.html The drawing process starts with a rough sketch to block out the landscape and composition, followed by ink-style rendering to define shapes, textures, and depth. I deliberately limited the final artwork to just five colors, focusing on contrast and atmosphere rather than detail overload. The entire illustration was created on an iPad Pro using Procreate and the Apple Pencil, keeping the workflow fast, minimal, and expressive. 🖋️ In this speed drawing you’ll see: • Rough landscape sketching • Ink-style rendering of rocks and terrain • Building depth with a limited four-color palette • Creating an alien, planetary atmosphere • Full Procreate process in real time (sped up) This video is for anyone interested in sci-fi art, digital landscape illustration, or efficient Procreate workflows using limited colors.
