Planetary Traveler
I produced Planetary Traveler in 1997. It was the first full length CGI film ever created using standard desk top computers (Macs) as opposed to dedicated high end work stations. Seven artists located around the U.S. created the imagery. We held production meetings on line in an AOL chat room. The artists mailed their files to be rendered and edited via 100 meg Zip drive cartridges (the largest removable media at the time). Paul Haslinger created the custom music score. The six digital artists that created the scenes for Planetary Traveler are: Rob Sonner, Susan Kitchens, Bill Ellsworth, Desmond J. Starr, Cathy Faye Rudolph, Dieter Eric von Schramm, and Rodney L’Ongnion. Here's a link to a Wired Magazine article regarding the making of the film: https://www.wired.com/1997/07/from-a-small-screen-to-the-small-screen/
