I'm driving a motor taken out of old CR-ROM drive using a HobbyKing 10A ESC. Current draw from power supply was less than 1A, so one can use a much smaller ESC to drive these. RPMs are pretty high but perhaps with a belt drive reduction a motor like this could be used for something in a hobby project
