An MSG instruction allows one to transfer data between two entities. This instruction can either retrieve or send data to a secondary device. In today's tutorial, we will be exploring this principle by establishing communication between two PLCs: MicroLogix 1100 and a CompactLogix L24ER.
The instruction will be used as a SLC based read which will retrieve the data from the MicroLogix PLC and store it into a register on the L24ER Studio 5000 based processor.
