P.M Quinns - Free Fall
Adapted from the poem, Free Fall (below). FREE FALL You cannot detach from the emotional barnacle, Your fear? There’s no life beyond the shackle, To ride the sucker into the ground you’re bound, Tethered to a slacker, drowning above ground, Holding on, can’t tell if it’s out of habit or nostalgia, Can’t tell which end of the ace is up, dyslogia, Imbalanced pattern of sacrifice and power, A recipe for long-term unhappiness, life’s sour, Sublimate your desires and independence, attract, Forgets not all opposites can attract, cold hard fact, Jealous, paranoid and an insecure nutcase, Your weak spots exposed, no mercy, no grace, Tenacious as you are, there’s always a breaking point, The hump between your best shot and reality, checkpoint, The little jibes and teases, no longer flirty anymore, Holding onto toxic straws, hands will get sore, Digging up your past, resentment fresh and bare, Where parallels cross, our paths will meet there, And I will buy you a pager for a birthday gift. My beloved, you must surely catch the drift. Free-Fall. ©P.M Quinns
