Pokémon AU Speedpaint #6

Almost everyone in Hoenn knows the ancient legend. 1,000,000 years ago, Groudon "God of Land", and Kyogre "God of the Oceans" battled epicly over whether the world would be water or land, eventually Rayquaza "Guardian of the Skies", came down and quelled their battle, sending them to sleep in two separate caves for all following millennia. But there's more to be told about the two combatants than just the ancient stories, like how they slowly stopped hating each other and learned to see the good in their worst enemy. 18 years before today, two men named Maxie & Archie had good intentions but horrendous plans, Maxie wanted to awaken Groudon for human development, Archie wanted to awaken Kyogre to help the world's flora & fauna. Thankfully, after Kyogre and Groudon woke up, Rayquaza was there to prevent them from destroying the world again. But something strange happened this time... they didn't go back to sleep. After the trio realized this, Rayquaza decided to assume the worst and concluded that they would never go back into those comatose states again, so he did what he felt was the next best thing to basically putting them in comas, he was gonna make them be at least neutral about eachother. It started small, not fighting when they saw each other, being able to be alone in the same room together, stuff like that. They eventually started getting more comfortable around each other and labeled themselves as "friends" (although they didn't exactly act like normal friends). More and more years passed and the hate subsided in what felt like minutes, not only did the weather & region benefit from it, so did they as people, they actually took time to think about who they were other than gods. And they eventually became best friends. But for maybe even 4 years, there was one topic that they never really talked about. Why they were ever enemies. Until that day when Groudon finally decided to admit the reason to the one person who he never in a million years thought he'd need to tell about this. The timing and place were right on a remote landmass during the beginning of sunset. Kyogre met Groudon there, not really expecting what would happen. "So... I feel like we should probably talk about what started... y'know... everything." "You make a good point, in all honesty I never really understood why we had to hate eachother so much." "Yeah... So... y'know how Pokémon have an innate sense of type match-ups and can usually tell just by looking at one another how great they'd do in a fight?" "... yeah?" "Well... When I first saw you I could tell you were a water type and I knew I was a ground type and that made me panic because I felt really intimidated and wanted to make sure you didn't have time to take advantage of that and hurt me so I made the crappy decision to attack you first and throw a boulder at your head at nearly Mach 1 but in hindsight I can see how it looks like I attacked you for no reason and probably just pissed you off and then everything just spiraled out of control from there-" **[INHALE]** "And I just wanted to apologize for doing that to you because I never really had the right to do that even if I was acting out of what from my point of view was self-preservation. It was still really wrong for me to do that instead of communicating, so I'm sorry. Okay?" Kyogre floated there for a minute, taking in all the information that was just given to him. "... Well that makes so much more sense now so thank you for doing that. And I accept your apology. Over the past 17 years I can see how much effort you've been putting into trying fix things, and even though I never truly understood why you attacked me millions of years ago, I could begin to see that you regretted it and wanted to fix things. That's why I decided to become your friend. And in all honesty, there was a mistake on my behalf as well. I should've communicated and asked you why you did that instead of immediately attacking back, so I apologize for that." "Thanks... So... are we still friends..?"
