It can take a lot of polish to make a CG character feel natural, organic, and connected. Polish is a never-ending battle and it can be hard to know when to stop. But be warned - as AnimSchool instructor Scott McWhinnie explains, if your weight isn't there or your mechanics are off or your acting is no good, "polish isn't gonna make your shot all of a sudden work". Another pitfall we need to avoid is over-polishing our animation shots as things can turn "gooey and weird". Polish must be seen as the cherry on top of a well-composed and animated shot.
