In this Etude, Popper writes, “This Study has to be executed throughout with very steady bow and light, scarcely perceptible bend of the wrist in passing over from one string to another.”
I must say, I find this particular Etude much more challenging for the left hand, in playing in tune and having a good stability with the thumb. None-the-less, I suppose it is always important to be aware of good bow usage no matter what the left hand is doing!
