Porencephalic cysts are rare cerebrospinal fluid–filled cavities within the brain that develop due to injury or abnormal development of brain tissue. In this video, we explore the causes, clinical features, and imaging characteristics of porencephalic cysts, including both congenital and acquired forms. We discuss common presentations such as seizures, motor deficits, and developmental delay, as well as how CT and MRI help distinguish these cysts from other intracranial lesions.
