Practice Session- Foot Control Exercise (see description)
Quick warm-up/timing/technique session Focusing on Foot Control (mind-muscle connection to build smooth technique and timing) https://drive.google.com/file/d/11oqiLdFm-zY83_1byRYghB6mBUoiBq83/view?usp=share_link 0:00 Right hand lead - 16ths on Ride at an uncomfortably fast tempo to discover sticky spots 0:34 Work out sticky spot (left foot offset paradiddle) 0:54 Work out right foot offset paradiddle-diddles 1:06 Left hand lead - 16ths on HH at an uncomfortable tempo to discover sticky spots 1:40 Work out left foot offset paradiddle-diddles 2:37 Good one, but can you repeat it consistently? 3:28 Got it comfortable, slow. Now try to increase speed on first chunk 3:48 VENT, return 4:00 4/5 solid reps at a moderate tempo, DONE Didn't finish the exercise, doesn't matter. 5 min warm-up/timing/technique complete. Chip away at it every day. Now, time to spend 30 minutes learning cover songs 😅 While leading with the left hand, I didn't enforce Moeller technique. This is because I was focusing primarily on foot technique (mind/muscle connection). Once I have more control with my feet, then I'll begin to incorporate Moeller with the left hand. In the meantime, I have other exercises where I DO focus on left hand Moeller. Always try to shift focus to where it best serves you
