Ok, improvisations are nice, but now for something else.
I need to see how I work on more complex and well-known songs.
The goal is to:
1. Learn the opening riff
2. Use that riff or parts of it in improvisation to improve the control
I'm using @MartyMusic , the incredible teacher https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCyM7tjz2YA. My butchering of the riff reflects not on his teaching but on my shortcomings.
Just memorizing a riff is not enough; my goal is to understand it and build on top of it.
The main reason I love this song is the #supernatural show, which had one of the best soundtracks for classic rock (and if you like the show, you know what my next song to practice will be).
