Drilling the tailstock ram for the Lorch. This needs to be very very concentric so we need to go quite carefully. As I slightly muntered the edit, the order of operations is as follows:
- True up stock in the chuck, and support it perfectly centred with a steady
- Drill undersize to a depth of about 3x the diameter of the target drill size
- Bore out the drilled hole to exactly the final drill diameter
- Final drill to depth
- (ream)
I couldn't work out how to put a meme in using shotcut, so I just left that bit blank. It works, I think.
