Prediction vs. Observation vs. Interpretation

Teaching new non-major's Bio Students (1) How to follow written directions and (2) The difference between a Prediction, an Observation, and an Interpretation. And yup, the building despite the cold temperatures outside is way too warm. Note that on further thought, perhaps the ice was melting and it was water, combined with some alcohol, that was settling to beneath the oil. I guess I was thrown at the time by how fast that was occurring, maybe because the alcohol was accelerating the melting? I really don't know...
