In this tutorial, we walk you through the essential steps to prepare any image for laser engraving. Starting with background removal, we use the website www.imag-r.com to isolate the main subject of your image, ensuring only the important details are engraved. This process helps improve focus and clarity on the final result.After removing the background, we’ll show you how to crop and resize the image using ImagR, setting the width to 160 mm and the DPI to 254 for optimal detail. We’ll also select the right engraving algorithm and material type for a CO2 laser on wood, using the “Banning” algorithm for sharp results. The image is saved in BMP format for high-quality engraving and then loaded into RD Works for final adjustments. Finally, we perform a test engraving to demonstrate the results.
