Pressurized Container Fire Control
Staff and adjunct instructors of GPSTC's Georgia Fire Academy teach pressurized container fire control during Georgia's 11th Annual Firefighter Weekend on March 16, 2013. The course is designed for firefighters and officers who may be called upon to handle emergencies involving pressurized containers. The course presents lifesaving information about fires involving pressurized containers, and how to control or when not to control these fires.Topics include tactics, behavior of pressurized containers exposed to fire, physical properties of common substances stored under pressure and control of LP gas fires. Especially useful are the practical exercises involving LP gas fires in simulated pressure containers or piping. GPSTC offers Pressurized Container Fire Control to fire service personnel several times a year: Course information can be viewed here: http://www.gpstc.org/calendar/calendar-coursedetail.jsp?gpstccode=MC0330 Please note only certified firefighters should attempt to extinguish a pressurized container fire.
