The Prince is likely more of an attractor pattern - although some say it can represent a Stone Fly. Either way, it is a good looking pattern, fun to tie, and will put trout on the end of your line.
This fly has stood the test of time and was probably initially called the Fork Tail or Brown Forked Tail pattern. Over the years, I've tied it in a few variations - most commonly switching up the biot tails from dark brown, to tan, and on to the golden - which is used in this video.
At times I'll vary the tinsel ribbing between silver and gold with a matching bead head. The characteristic white horns laying over the back and the peacock herl body, you will know it when you see it.
