This video is a part of my final year fine art Project. It focuses on how problematic the term femininity is, raising concern on the beauty industry and how it affects women in todays modern society.
The use of ritualistic movements and mime raises awareness that the act of being a woman is a mascaraed and alludes to how women have been judged throughout history.
Through the use of sound I have placed abject noises of the hair removal process threading alongside other beauty aspects. meanwhile also incorporating a chant that is stating the everyday ritual of putting on your makeup.
Within this film all models are over the age of 18.
