Process Mining Analysis Tip: Mean vs. median

Previously, we saw how in a bottleneck analysis (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJKWItXNVv0) you should not only look at the mean but also the frequencies to find out where you spend most of your time in the process. But is it a good idea to look at the mean in the first place? What if you don't have a normal distribution? In this 3-minute video, we look at examples of how the arithmetic mean is often quite influenced by outliers. In contrast, the median still shows a typical value and may be a better way to analyze the performance of your process.
