Procrastination - Geoff Thompson

#geoffthompson #notesfromafactoryfloor #inspiration I have put together a series of short readings, filmed and produced by the wonderful Paul Shammasian and Gabriela Barrios @resight_films in order to promote my new memoir Notes From a Factory Floor. This is the first of the readings and perhaps the most apt. Whenever I start a new project I can usually measure the (potential) potency of the finished product by the level of resistance I feel in the approach. If the resistance is strong I know I am onto a good thing, if I am filled with fear and trepidation at the very thought of it, and if I find myself procrastinating and finding twenty good reasons not to sit down and write, I know I am in the right place. If the world is a map, fear is the X that marks the treasure: in order to claim that bounty, we will have to dig past all the dead bodies of our karma. In this confessionary book, there are (metaphoric) body-bags everywhere. (But it is funny too...)
