As a child, my Mom used to say to me, “A promise is a comfort for a fool.” I didn’t quite understand it at first, but as I grew into adolescence, I figured it out. Persons will lie through a promise just to get you interested, keep a failing relationship, to purchase something, etc. But the promises of God are grounded in His word and are solidified by His love for us.
