We give an example of a formal proof that p_n converges to 3 if p_n is defined by p_n = 3 minus 4 divided by n+1. A sequence in a metric space X converges to a point p in X if for every epsilon greater than 0, there exists an N such that if n is greater than or equal to N, then the distance from p_n to p is less than epsilon.
