PROPHET REV2 SYNTHWORKX 2 // using prophet patches only

Between 2018 and 2024 I composed my nine so called Prophet REV2 SynthWorkX, in which I only use (tweaked) patches from this great synthesizer. In my work I use a relative complex layering of melodies, pads, arpeggios, ostinato’s, basses, percussive sounds and little efx. In Cubase Pro 13 my Prophet is attached as a external instrument. That way I can work with midi, tweak and automate every single Prophet envelope and parameter. The disadvantage is that it can only playback and record one synth track at a time. Once I have recorded all the individual tracks I start sculpting and mixing, finding interesting balances between all these indivudual tracks. Dynamics, panning, depth, filtering, all this kind of stuff. Untill it clicks. On some of the tracks I also use side-chain. All was composed, mixed and produced using Cubase Pro 13. Here are some of the plugins that I used when mixing and mastering: - Fabfilter Pro EQ3 - Fabfilter C2 compressor - Fabfilter L2 Limiter - Cubase Dual filter (for cut-off) - Cubase Stereo Delay - Waves H-delay - Avalon VT 737sp EQ and compressor - Avalon VT 747sp EQ and compressor - Universal Audio Pultec EQP 1a - Manley Variable MU Compressor - Solid State Logic Fusion Stereo Image - Universal Audio Ampex ATR 101 Mastering Tape recorder Pretty much of a list, although all I'm giving them just a touch, like just a few db’s. Next to that I added some extra send reverb using: - Fabfilter Pro-R reverb: Chamber, Hall and Blackhole presets Hope you enjoy my uplifting, spheric synth workx. More workx are upcoming.
