Proto Tech Tip - Sheet Metal Step Bends

Every week, Team Protocase is bringing you a Proto Tech Tip video, where we'll give an informative look at a particular aspect of sheet metal fabrication and CNC Machining. This week, Allison introduces the process of step bending for custom sheet metal enclosures and parts. When it comes to creating custom sheet metal parts and enclosures, bending is crucial to being able to manufacture the parts as you envision them. Sheet metal is bent with a press brake or folder in order to achieve the desired shape. Step bending takes a large bend radius and divides up the total bend radius into many smaller bends one after the other in order to approximate a larger radius.
