Chestnut trees can get damaged from wind, snow, or ice. After getting damaged, they grow back vigorously and produce many new shoots that need to be carefully selected and trained to help the tree recover and be productive again. Here, we show how we prune an ice storm damage chestnut tree one year after the storm and after many of the new sprouts have grown 2-5 feet.
