This video covers how to translate a PICO question into a PubMed search string using: 1) search fields and 2) Boolean operators. I also show how to find the full-text using: 1) PubMed links, 2) Google scholar, or 3) Sci-Hub.
Search fields: 1) [Title/Abstract] and 2) [MeSH Terms] are my most commonly used fields.
Boolean operators: 1) AND restricts and 2) OR expands. These operators are controlled by parentheses, with operations within parentheses done first (just like in math). Generally speaking, AND goes between sets of parentheses and OR goes within them.
