Pumping our Septic Tanks
We pumped our septic tanks little over a month ago. This is the first time we've had the tanks pumped. You are supposed to pump them every 3-5 years and beyond that so I was surprised how little sludge was in the tank. This is a dual chamber septic system where the first tank hold the sludge and the second tank is mostly effluent where it is allowed to break down more before heading to the leach field. Here are links to when we installed the system: Septic System Begins on our Off Grid Barndominium https://youtu.be/CIOTG4Ywf0I Septic Tank Installation of our Dual Tank Septic System https://youtu.be/-UuT0Xl_JXk Digging for the Septic Tanks and having nothing but problems https://youtu.be/fBlaxxkG8AE Finishing the Hole for our Infiltrator Septic Tanks https://youtu.be/bFFT5GwvHaY Installing Septic Lateral Lines in our Off Grid Home https://youtu.be/pS0ZR-uAS0w How to Install a Septic Tank System Start to Finish over bedrock https://youtu.be/Ur73PhAC3tU Background: We are building a house offgrid utilizing an off grid solar power system and rain water harvesting system to supply our home. Living off the grid is new to us as it is to many others. We hope our build will help inspire others to build a home off the grid too.
