Vapor liquid equilibrium (VLE) calculations are important in applications that have liquid with vapor in thermodynamic equilibrium. This tutorial is an introduction to solving nonlinear equations with Python such as those that come from VLE predictions. In this case, Raoult's law is used to find the temperature and liquid composition, given a pressure and vapor mole fractions of benzene and toluene.
